What Changed in Each Build

LMC 8.4 R18 (14 June 2023)

Full-height exposure slider, pop-up button lists, vibration feedback, noise and AWB model loading, viewfinder FPS, fixed default lenses and a black theme. Read more about R18.

LMC 8.4 R17 (3 May 2023)

LDR Lite Highlight, Sabre Noise and Disable Preserving Highlights, a Gain section with Radius Gain and Samsung Metering Mode. Read more about R17.

LMC 8.4 R16 (6 April 2023)

Choice of how many frames to merge in ZSL and HDRNet per lens, long-tap shortcuts in the viewfinder, zoom value per button, low/high viewfinder resolution, a Julian T colour transform button and an HDR effect item. The developer limited merging to 28 frames on purpose because most phones' buffers cannot handle more. Some settings (noise model, upscale, black level) reset on old configs and must be set again.

LMC 8.4 R15 (30 November 2022)

Exynos support, per-lens library selection, night sky detection by default, Live HDR for Samsung and seven packages. Read more about R15.

LMC 8.4 R14 (11 October 2022)

Material You for all Android versions, system noise model, fewer animations and new tone curves from GCam 8.6. Read more about R14.

LMC 8.4 R13 (15 August 2022)

Fix 2 added ISO 100, Max Time and Max ISO to shutter speed selection and six new lens sessions. Read more about R13.

LMC 8.4 R8 and R9 (March and April 2022)

The first public LMC 8.4 builds. They are mainly useful for very old configs. Release 10 to 12 changelogs (menu redesign, new noise models, lens logic selection and manual colour correction) were rolled into the R13 download.

Every new LMC 8.4 build kept the earlier fixes.

When Should You Use an Old Version?

  • Your config was made for a specific build and gives different results on R18.
  • You follow a video tutorial that uses an older menu layout.
  • You need a package that R18 does not include, such as qcamera3 or ruler (available in R15 and R16).
  • A newer build crashes on your phone while an older one works. This is rare but can happen on some MediaTek phones.

In every other case, install the latest LMC 8.4 R18.

How to Install an Old LMC 8.4 Version

  1. Check the package name of the old build. If it is different from your current one, you can install it side by side.
  2. If the package name is the same, back up your config, uninstall the newer build, then install the old APK.
  3. Restore a config made for that build from the /LMC8.4/ folder.
