LMC 8.4 for Infinix and Tecno Phones
What works, what does not, and how to get the best result
Infinix, Tecno and itel phones are everywhere in Bangladesh, so many people want LMC 8.4 on them. The honest answer: it works on some models, partly works on others and does not work on a few. Here is how to find out for your phone.

Why Infinix and Tecno Are Harder
Google Camera was built for Pixel phones with Qualcomm and Google Tensor chips. GCam ports work best when a phone exposes its camera through Google's Camera2 API at FULL or LEVEL_3 level. Many budget MediaTek and Unisoc phones report LIMITED or LEGACY support, which means the app cannot control the sensor the way HDR+ needs. The result can be crashes, black screens, pink or green tints, or very slow saving.

Step 1: Check Camera2 API
- Install "Camera2 API Probe" from the Play Store.
- Look at the Hardware Support Level of camera 0.
- FULL or LEVEL_3: LMC 8.4 should work well. LIMITED: it may work with HDR+ only. LEGACY: it will probably not work.

Step 2: Install and Test
- Download the LMC 8.4 R18 default APK.
- On XOS or HiOS: Settings → Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps → Chrome or Files → Allow.
- Install, open and allow permissions.
- Take a daylight photo with HDR+ (not Enhanced). If it saves correctly, try Night Sight.

Best Settings for MediaTek Phones
- Use HDR+ instead of HDR+ Enhanced.
- Lower the HDR+ and Night Sight frame count.
- Turn off RAW and motion photos.
- Use the main lens; extra lenses are rarely available on these phones.
- If photos are pink or green, change the AWB model or noise model.

Configs and Alternatives
- Tecno Camon 30: has a config in the official LMC 8.4 (R16–R18) collection.
- Other Infinix and Tecno models: no official LMC 8.4 configs yet; use default settings.
- LMC 8.3 R4 FE: added "Sabre MTK for MediaTek devices" — worth testing next to LMC 8.4.
- Stock camera: if LMC crashes on opening, keep your stock camera and use its Pro or Night mode. Some phones simply do not support GCam.
