To use LMC 8.4 on Samsung, install the R18 default APK first; if the ultra-wide or telephoto lens is missing, add the Scan3D or Iris package (or Ruler from R15/R16). Exynos support arrived in R15, and R17 added Samsung Metering Mode. Ready configs exist for the Galaxy A71, A73, M51, S20 FE and the S21 to S25 series.

Why Samsung Needs a Special Package

Samsung's camera software only gives the wide, telephoto and macro lenses to certain apps. Third-party apps usually see the main lens only. LMC's Samsung packages use package names that belong to Samsung's own system apps — com.samsung.android.scan3d, com.samsung.android.server.iris and com.samsung.android.ruler — so the phone treats LMC like one of them and opens the extra lenses.

The right package decides whether LMC 8.4 can open every Samsung lens.

Samsung-Specific Improvements in LMC 8.4

  • R15: Exynos support (verified on the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, S21 Ultra and S10), Live HDR and an iris switch button for Samsung.
  • R17: Samsung Metering Mode in System Setup, which helps exposure match the stock app.
  • R18: a new Iris package and fixed default lens IDs for many phones.

Galaxy A and M Series Tips

Many Galaxy A and M phones popular in Bangladesh use MediaTek or entry-level Exynos chips. On these phones:

  • Use HDR+ instead of HDR+ Enhanced if photos take long to save or the app closes.
  • Expect the main lens to give the best results; ultra-wide may stay unavailable on some models.
  • If your exact model has no LMC 8.4 config, try the config of a Galaxy with the same sensor, or the LMC 9.6 config for the Galaxy A05s.

How to Install LMC 8.4 on Samsung

  1. Download the LMC 8.4 R18 default APK.
  2. On One UI, allow installs: Settings → Apps → ⋮ → Special access → Install unknown apps → My Files (or Chrome) → Allow.
  3. Install and open the app; allow all permissions.
  4. Tap the 0.5x and 2x buttons. If they are missing, install the Scan3D package too, then Iris if needed.

Common Samsung Problems

  • Only main lens: use Scan3D or Iris.
  • Dark or bright photos: Samsung Metering Mode (R17+).
  • Crash on capture: HDR+ instead of HDR+ Enhanced; lower the frame count.
